Job Description:
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for all areas related
to accounting functions and accurate and timely financial reporting
of the organization. The position will be expected to develop and
manage accounting operations, production of periodic reports and
maintenance of accounting records. The Accounting Manager will
report directly to the President of the company and will be
expected to make appropriate recommendations regarding accounting
principles, practices and procedures. This position will supervise
and manage the accounting and payroll team.Job Duties
- Apply a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and
general ledger structure to develop and ensure accurate and timely
financial and performance reporting
- Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient
procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of
accuracy
- Provide training to new and existing staff as needed
- Develop and maintain internal control guidelines, policies and
procedures for cash and credit management and budget
accounting
- Coordinate and direct budgeting, procurement, and financial
planning
- Initiate and implement budgets and forecasts
- Clean up old receivables and initiate procedures for managing
receivables
- Work with staff to understand and improve the purchasing,
receiving, and payable procedure for all purchases
- Interface with other departments to verify transaction report
data and any issues
- Respond to inquiries from management regarding financial
results, and any special reporting
- Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
- Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and
features to enhance the workflow of the department and the
company
- Responsible for company general ledger
- Manage all business insurance requirements
- Manage multi-state sales tax and audits
- Will be responsible for preparing state and federal tax return,
multi-state
- Work with the retained CPA firm to ensure clean and timely year
end financials
- Payroll management; oversee and support payroll
processingQualification and Education Requirements
- 10+ years of Accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance or related
field
- Understanding of applicable laws and regulations
- Knowledge and experience with payroll, AP and AR functions
- Ability to deliver quality work within tight deadlines
- Must have strong organization skills
- Advanced computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite and especially
Excel
- Must have knowledge of federal regulation on taxes and
reporting
- Experience in a relatable industry is preferred
