Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our growing tax department. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex tax matters for high-net-worth individuals while maintaining a genuine work-life balance in a fully remote environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee sophisticated individual and business tax return preparation Manage and perform quality assurance on complex filings for clients with $5M net worth Supervise junior tax professionals and provide technical guidance Collaborate with wealth advisors on integrated tax planning strategies Lead strategic tax planning initiatives during off-season periods (not just a compliance role) Maintain direct client communication on tax matters and planning opportunities Participate in business development and client retention efforts Compensation & Benefits Base Salary: Up to $150,000 (commensurate with experience) Annual Bonus: 10-15% performance-based incentive Benefits Package: Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company matching - up to 4% Professional development budget CPA license maintenance reimbursement Flexible PTO policy Work Environment & Culture No billable hour requirements Busy season limited to 50-55 hours maximum Strategic advisory work during off-season periods Fully remote position - work from anywhere in the United States Professional Growth Opportunities: Exposure to sophisticated wealth management strategies Collaboration with investment professionals and estate planners Continuing education support and career advancement pathways Mentorship from senior tax directors Leadership development and team management experience Required Qualifications Minimum 5-6 years of public accounting or wealth management (in tax) experience At least 1-2 years as a Tax Manager (or Supervisor) Public accounting or wealth management background with management experience Active CPA license in good standing Proficiency with CCH Axcess and SurePrep software Experience advising high-net-worth clients directly Proven leadership and team management skills Strong technical knowledge of complex tax matters Ideal Candidate Profile You are an experienced tax professional looking to transition from traditional public accounting to a more strategic, advisory-focused management role.
