    Join the Clean Energy Revolution! The Nuclear Project Manager, Media Relations [HYBRID] will work for the Principal Manager, Nuclear Communications, and be responsible for day-to-day media relations activities in support of the San Onofre Nuclear Plant. Now shutdown and preparing to be decommissioned, there is strong public interest in the process as well as other key issues such as used fuel storage and environmental permitting. Will serve as SCE's public information officer on nuclear issues and will be the main interface with various media outlets.
    Also responsible for the development of external messaging, facts sheets and other communications tools, including content for social media channels and Located in one of the largest media markets in the country and a highly populated area, there is a constant demand for information. Will be able to prioritize multiple tasks, be forward-thinking at addressing both technical and emotional issues, and have a proven success path handling crisis communication. A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!
    • Responsible for drafting and maintaining external messages, company press releases and statements on nuclear issues, as well as for SONGS CEP meetings and events (15%)
    • Serve as SCE's public information officer for nuclear issues; this includes interfacing with various media outlets (30%)
    • Draft facts sheets, Q&As, and other collateral material for external use (15%)
    • Responsible for supervising and engaging with social media tools for SONGS (such as twitter) and to coordinate with SCE's social media team (20%)
    • Draft content and provide day to day oversight for (10%)
    • Work with SCE's media relations team to keep them informed of media activities and participate in SONGS Emergency Response Planning and drills. (10%) Qualifications
      The Essentials
      • 5 - 10 years of experience in media relations and public relations with a corporation or public relations firm The Preferred
        • Bachelor's degree or higher in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English or related field.
        • Strong writing and communications kills
        • Ability to translate complicated topics into accessible terms
        • Strong technical skills related to social media channels
        • Experience dealing with high profile issues and crisis communications
        • Experience prioritizing multiple issues and proven track record
          You should know---
          Work Mode: When a return-to-office date has been determined, this position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
