Job Description Job Description Essential Duties and
Responsibilities: Meet with students one-to-one or in small groups
to provide learning assistance and strategies on current course
material. Maintain a weekly schedule of available hours for student
appointments of no less than 10 hours per week and no more than 20
hours per week. Keep regular and accurate records of tutoring
sessions using available software and/or relevant forms. Visit
class(s) to make contact with the faculty member at least once to
obtain any necessary course syllabi or materials. Attend
tutor-training sessions as required by the Tutor Coordinator.
Attend workshops in order to obtain necessary certification.
Utilization of Tutor Match Services Qualifications/Requirements: Be
a current undergraduate or graduate student of CDU Have a minimum
GPA of 3.0 for undergraduates and 3.5 for graduates. Completion of
a particular course tutoring with earning at least a "B"
Recommendation from a faculty member of each course to tutor.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITY/SKILLS: Good interpersonal communication skills
and ease in relating to people from varying educational, cultural,
and social backgrounds. Good level of responsibility, reliability,
and punctuality. Appropriate and professional behavior at all
times. Demonstrated database management skills. Ability to
establish priorities, meet deadlines and attain growth-oriented
goals. Must possess excellent computer skills and be proficient in
MS Windows, Word, Excel, etc. COMPLEXITY: The ability to perform
highly detailed work with sustained attention and care while
providing/obtaining information on numerous inquiries is paramount
