Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Purpose: The ideal candidate has
previous direct care experience working in an adult psychiatric
setting or crisis stabilization unit. In this position, you will
have the opportunity to work in a setting that provides dignified,
compassionate and respectful care to people with mental illness.
Additionally, you will have the ability to see patients
independently and utilize the full scope of your license. As a BHD
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at CSC , You will be
responsible for : Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis and
treatment of clients at Chinatown Service Center, utilization
consultation with a psychiatrist for support as needed. Provide
medication management to clients: educate clients and staff
regarding medications, monitor and assist clients with
self-medication, administer injectable medications, coordinate
changes in medication orders with client and staff, and train staff
in medication management, administration, and adherence strategies.
Communicate and coordinate with external providers including
Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) and hospital providers,
external psychiatrists, residential and outpatient treatment
programs, primary care providers and specialists. As appropriate,
communicates with clients, their families, and other key
individuals to facilitate quality patient care and treatment.
Provides crisis intervention and referral to psychiatric
hospitalization, as needed. Demonstrate commitment to mission of
the organization. Comply with HIPAA/HITECH/OSHA and CMS
regulations. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Masters or
Doctorate degree from an accredited nursing school PMHNP Board
Certification (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner)
Possession of a current, valid California Registered Nurse License
and Furnishing Number or Physician Assistant License DEA
Registration NPI number Ongoing clearance with the California State
Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division,
allowing for direct contact with clients in licensed programs.
Current BLS/ALCS certificate Knowledge of co-occurring disorders
and trauma informed care Clinical experience with and commitment to
working with diverse client populations suffering from psychiatric
crisis(es) and a range of mental health disorders Experience
providing psychiatric care to marginalized populations including
those suffering from substance use disorders, those with a criminal
justice history, and those experiencing homelessness Intelligent
and warm with excellent listening skills Ability to work
cooperatively and effectively as part of interdisciplinary team and
independently assume responsibility Strong initiative and
enthusiasm and willingness to pitch in whenever needed Experience
working with electronic health records Bilingual in English and
Spanish or Mandarin/Cantonese preferred CSC's Employees Enjoy:
