Job Description:
US Foods, a leading force in the foodservice distribution in
America, is seeking a highly capable Transportation Manager to
optimize and lead operations within our robust network. The ideal
candidate will manage all aspects of transportation logistics for
our varied range of products, ensuring efficient, timely, and
cost-effective delivery services. Overseeing a team of drivers and
fleet operations, the Transportation Manager will play a crucial
role in maintaining our reputation by adhering to safety guidelines
and maximizing customer satisfaction through superior service
delivery. Oversee daily transportation operations, including
scheduling and routing to ensure optimal delivery times and route
efficiency. Manage a team of drivers, including hiring, training,
and performance evaluation. Work closely with warehouse and
distribution managers to streamline operations and reduce delays.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
regarding transportation and safety. Coordinate maintenance and
repair of the fleet to minimize downtime and maintain safety
standards. Analyze transportation costs and performance data to
report to senior management and suggest improvements. Implement
strategic transportation strategies to enhance overall efficiency
and cost-effectiveness. Strong leadership and team management
skills Proficient in logistics software and routing tools Excellent
communication and coordination abilities Problem-solving mindset
with attention to detail Knowledge of safety and regulatory
requirements in transportation Certified in Transportation and
Logistics (CTL) Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
preferred
